Giving feedback as a leader is not only unavoidable but also highly important for the cohesion and productivity of your team. As a leader you have the power and opportunity to create a culture in which feedback becomes a vehicle for productivity and work-satisfaction. Are you a leader that asks for - and/or is open to- receive feedback? Afterall, you can lead by example. This holds true as well for compliments (also a form of giving feedback), an invaluable way to create collaboration and increase productivity.

As we often notice in our feedback workshops, many of us find giving and receiving feedback a tricky thing[AK1] . We often swallow our feedback if the behavior of our colleague bothers us, because we don’t want to hurt that person’s feelings, or are afraid to get an angry reaction and that your team member will take it too personal.

This feedback workshop zooms in on why we have trouble giving and receiving feedback, and we will give you the tools so that you know how to give effective feedback. In the feedback workshop, we work with the 4G model of giving feedback, enabling you to take the ‘personal’ out of the feedback so that the chance of people feeling attacked or taking it too personal is minimized.  For a leader, giving and receiving feedback in an effective way, creates the opportunity to foster a culture in which it becomes safe and normal to give each other feedback; thereby enhancing collaboration.

Feedback is the breakfast of champions.
