DISC INFLUENCING SKILLS

  • More effective communication

  • Improve collaboration

  • Self-awareness of your style of preference

We all have experienced colleagues we loved working with. You focus on the same things, don’t need to explain a lot to each other, and often need just a few words, and the other knows what you mean or want. Then there is that other category; colleagues with whom communication is not that smooth. We find them too vague, too chaotic or too direct in their communication, or way too detail-oriented. This mismatch in communication can cause irritation at best, and frustration
and inefficiency at worst.

In the DISC workshop we zoom in on the 4 different communication styles. We show where the focus and needs lie for each style, and emphasize that no style is better than the other, each has its strengths. Additionally, you are not stuck in a style just because you feel comfortable with it and use it often. Participants often realize that, they already tend to apply different styles to adapt to the particular situation.

Sometimes, for example, it’s useful to be more businesslike, and sometimes you focus more on the relationship. The goal of this workshop is to help to learn to recognize and appreciate the different styles. Moreover, you will learn how to adjust your own way of communicating to others, so that communication flows more smoothly. As a result, the collaboration will not only become more effective but also feel much more pleasant for both parties.
